The Imperial College London Comprehensive Cancer Imaging Centre (ICLCCIC), under the Directorship of Prof Eric Aboagye, has a well-established affiliation with the NIHR/Wellcome Trust Imperial CRF with the successful completion of a number of studies. ICLCCIC has significant strengths in probe design with synthetic chemistry, probe validation in pre-clinical models, analytical software development, signal processing/visualisation, and clinical validation to translate biomedical discoveries into health benefits in the short to medium term, particularly in the areas of cancer drug development and therapeutic management of patients. Many of the clinical trials at the latter stage involve close working with the CRF for successful completion. The CRF was the lead centre investigating the reproducibility of a novel tracer developed by the ICLCCIC to assess tumour angiogenesis in patients with advanced cancer.  Currently, we are conducting two studies of novel PET tracers for imaging proliferation in cancer cells.
