Transeuro

The aim of this multi-centre European consortium (Transeuro) funded by an FP7-EU grant is to conduct a new round of neural cell transplantation clinical trials in late 2012 in Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients as an effective restorative therapy. Through a series of MRI scans and cognitive assessments, a large cohort of PD patients and healthy volunteers are being followed over time providing a unique, detailed and longitudinal assessment of the natural progression of PD in vivo. Following the clinical trial, we will be able to assess post-transplantation restoration of brain activation and connectivity in anticipation of further clinical trials and clinical translation.
