WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY STUDY NEEDS VOLUNTEERS
We are investigating the effect that weight loss surgery has on diabetes.
We are looking for volunteers to take part in this study. There will be a screening visit and a maximum five study visits each lasting between 1-6 hours.
Visits will involve a medical screening visit where you will be examined by a doctor and have baseline blood samples and an ECG. This will then be followed by visits where we profile your body fat using a scanner, your genes by blood test and how your body handles sugar by a standard meal. We also collect samples of urine and stool, and if applicable, sperm.
We are looking for:
- Male or females
- Aged 18-80
- Planning to undergo weight loss surgery
- Have diabetes or pre-diabetes
